The Machine Theme

The Debating Chamber
The Machine Debate
June 24, 14:00 - 18:00, Cambridge Council Chambers
The Machine Debate will be led by a Chairman accompanied by expert
witnesses, for and against each of the topics for debate. The debates will
focus on the most contentious issues emerging from the theme and will look to
find a consensus resolution for the future within an interactive environment
where all attending can participate freely.
Presentations from some of the most exciting and disruptive companies in the
sector will serve to support either side of the debate. Each will be chosen
from the Library House EVI database that researches and
profiles fast-growth, innovation-led private companies, their people and
investors providing unique insight into the leading enterprises of the future.
In the final session three shortlisted ‘Future Machine Prize' finalists
will compete for a cash prize of £20,000 plus access to serviced offices in a
corresponding Innovation Centre for a year. The Chamber will deliberate the
winner who will be announced on the conference stage at a FutureFest Grand
Finale at the end of the Festival.
